Historic Pearl SA is a small, independent website that explains the Pearl district for first-time visitors: where it came from, what is there today, and how to plan a relaxed day around it.

The Pearl grew out of the Pearl Brewing Company, which brewed beer on the banks of the San Antonio River from the 1880s until the brewery closed in 2001. Since then the campus has been redeveloped into a mixed-use neighborhood of restaurants, shops, a weekend farmers market, apartments and a hotel, connected to downtown by the Museum Reach of the River Walk.
